The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce recognizes that our ancestors arrived in Manitoba around the time that Treaty One was signed in Canada in 1871, building our first trading partnerships with the Metis and Indigenous people of the area. Today, the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce acknowledges that we and our Eastman Immigrant Services partners are located and do business on historic Treaty 1 Territory – home and lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Dakota, Dene, and Ojibwe-Cree, and the Red River Métis Nation.
