The Business Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements, innovation, and leadership of local businesses, non-profits, and individuals who make a lasting impact in Steinbach and the surrounding area in the following award categories:

Nominations open June 20, 2025, at 6:00 AM and close July 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM. (extended)
Public voting for the Customer Service Award will run from June 20 at 6:00 AM to July 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM. (extended)
How Nominations Work
Businesses and individuals located in Steinbach and the surrounding area are eligible for nomination.
All nominations submitted before the deadline will be accepted and considered. An independent selection committee, comprising of community members, will review all eligible submissions and select one recipient per category, except for the Customer Service Award, which is determined by public vote. The nominee with the highest number of unique votes will receive the award.
All nominations are confidential. The selection committee reserves the right not to present an award in any category if no suitable candidates are identified.
2025 Award Categories
Business Of The Year Award
The Business of the Year Awards honours outstanding businesses in three size categories: small, medium, and large, that demonstrate excellence in the following areas:
- Growth and Stability
- Innovation
- Quality of Product and/or Service
- Human Resource Practices
- Commitment to Community and/or Industry
Size Categories:
- Small Business: 10 employees or less
- Medium Business: 11 – 49 employees
- Large Business: 50 or more employees

Legacy Award
The Legacy Award celebrates individuals who have made a lasting impact through dedication, leadership, and investment in our local community. This award honours those who consistently use their time, influence, and resources to create meaningful, long-term contributions.

Customer Service Award
The Customer Service Award is presented to a business that the public has recognized for consistently delivering exceptional customer service. The winner is determined entirely by public vote.

Rising Star Award
The Future Leader Award recognizes an individual between 18 to 40 years of age who demonstrates admirable leadership and vision within an organization or business. This person has significantly impacted their business or organization, driven positive change and/or innovation, and deserves recognition for their contributions to our community and/or their industry.
The Rising Star Award was formerly the Future Leader Award.

The Non-Profit Excellence Award is awarded to a non-profit organization that enhances the social, cultural, environmental, or economic well-being of the community. This organization is known for delivering high-quality programs, achieving its mission, and employing innovative practices.
